Blue is Classic.

February 9, 2012

I may have drooled over teal in recent posts, but I think blue is starting to win me over (and I am not talking about Beyonce’s baby girl). Navy blue reminds me of when I was growing up. My parents had their house designed by Barnard and Speziale in the late 80’s, early 90’s and the house was splashed with navy blue and yellow, everywhere! It dated itself, but now blue is back, whether it’s navy, royal or grey blue. Did it really ever go out of style or what it just taking the back seat while other colours shone brighter? This set by Le Creuset made me instantly think, I love this colour and want hints of this in my kitchen! Blue never goes out of style!

And not to mention, it’s still hot on the runway!

According to House and Home’s March Issue, blue is rated the most popular colour worldwide, it is the most productive hue and it creates the sense of trust and tranquility.  House and Home also suggests mixing various shades of blue in one room to create a chic look! One trick with blue is to not choose a shade that is juvenile (think little boys room!), instead try to pick a colour with either gray, teal or navy undertones.

It's no secret, I adore blue. That couch in the bottom picture on the left side just stole my heart. I covet.

The 1st & 4th rooms are gorgeous!! Blue is one of my favorite colors, for sure…and I'm a sucker for books and many many cases & shelves to put them in. 🙂
