Fireplaces – Add Some Warmth to Your Space

February 7, 2012

It’s winter, and although the weather isn’t as cold as expected, it’s still nice to cozy up next to a fire. I have a fireplace in my house, but it’s only for decoration. It’s the original mantle and coal burning fireplace, which helps give the dining room (which originally was the living room) a bit of character. I have decide to leave the fireplace as is, but hope to dress the wall up around it; A mirror, art and some accessories will help this fireplace in no time!

In the new addition, this is the wall I envision with a built in fireplace. It’s a perfect spot for it. When the budget suits, I will create something spectacular here!

Please ignore the lack of decor. It’s a work in progress 😉

Here are some inspirations for this wall. Things to consider…storage space, depth and how to add a “wow” factor to this accent wall. There are few areas in your house that you can use texture and various materials. The fireplace is most definitely an area to be creative and make a statement!

I love these book cases! I am a Denver Real Estate Agent and built-ins are in demand!

Me too Molly! I actually work as an Interior Design at a custom cabinetry shop, so you can imagine how many built ins I design! I am always so envious of my clients once they cabinetry is installed; all the organization, space saving and architectural details are to die for. As you can see, I have LOTS of spots for them!

    Thanks for your comment 🙂
