It’s an age old question…should drapes contrast the wall colour or match? I have been amongst the old school mentality that they should not match. I am not sure why, it was just a gut instinct. I usually go a few shades darker or lighter, or pick up another complimentary colour in the room. Upon further research, I regret to say that my gut is not always right. In fact, you can go either way! Matching the two creates a sense of harmony and continuity in the space, where contrasting the drapery fabric brings more drama. So what can I say? I am not always right. What do you think about the tone on tone drapes and wall colour?
