For years now, people keep saying that brass is making a come back in home decor. I didn’t believe them… until now. At this year’s Interior Design Show (read my review on the show here), many booths seemed to successfully merge all types of metals together in one vignette. I was kind of, well, shocked. It liberated me to think that, yes, perhaps people are right; brass is back. But let me explain…

In most circumstances, the brass we are referring to is not the early 90’s yellow brass, instead, it’s more of a pewter brass. There is less gold and more antique patina in today’s revamped version. However, I have started to notice that the very yellow brass is also making a resurgence. Designers alike are completely embracing the trend, both in the strong gold colour and mixing it with other metals such as brushed nickel, chrome and oil rubbed bronze. It seems that anything goes. What do you think about this trend? I think I am slowly loving it…
