Fence for Thought

My backyard is still, um, a work in progress. Luckily, I decided to wait until the heat subsided to lay my sod or else it would have be toast! But in reality, even after the heat wave has ended, I still haven’t done anything…no sod…no fence….no patio….as you can see. Isn’t it kinda sad? But damn, it will sure make a fabulous before and after shot!

My desert, I mean, backyard to date.

The budget for the backyard just wasn’t in the cards this summer, but that doesn’t mean I wasn’t planning it in my head. One focus: the fence. After my first summer here, I realized how I lacked privacy. I dream of a tall fence, preferably 8′, that closes in the yard to make sure my future dog stays inside the yard’s confines. In addition, I have noticing fences with horizontal planks, instead of vertical ones. I think it screams contemporary and chic. So I started to dig for some inspiration….
