One key element to an amazing sleep is a comfortable duvet. I often struggle between style and function with bedding. I love the way hotel bedding looks, especially this set from Restoration Hardware, with it’s crisp, clean and polished allure. However, I own a white duvet and even with the most conscious of efforts, it is stained. Forever.

I had to be practical when thinking about my next duvet cover. While white still remains my favourite, I compromised. It took me a really long time of searching high and low to find a duvet cover that I could live with. Even after getting my package in the mail from Anthropologie, I still wasn’t certain that I like the pattern I went with. However, after a few weeks of warming up to the quilt, I now love it!

I did something different than I expected. First off, I found a quilt, not a duvet. I still use my white duvet, but it is covered, under my quilt. I use the quilt as a decorative piece during the day, and then, at night, I turn it down to the foot of the bed. As a result, I get the best of both worlds! During my search, I stumbled upon some interesting patterns and motifs. Here are a few of my picks…I hope they will help you in your quest for the perfect duvet (or quilt)!

The Yours and Mine bed looks pretty cute. I love all the designs, if only my house can fit all those beds I'd buy them all.

I agree! It was one of my first picks as well. Something about the monogram and the crispness of the stripe. Thank goodness I will have guest room! When I am sick of my bedding, I have an option to swap it out, but only once!
