Nate Berkus’ Design Philosophy

September 16, 2013

I have enjoyed the evolution of Nate Berkus’ designs. I think he creates spaces that are current, eclectic and real. I recently subscribed to Architectural Digest on YouTube. I find that viewing interiors in 3D rather than in magazine print helps me as a designer envision spatial relationships better. I stumbled upon this video of Berkus explaining his philosophy on design. It made me like him more after watching this footage. His design aesthetic and approach is similar to how I design. I appreciate his comments around the 1:15 mark and beyond. I often find myself explain a similar philosophy to my clients. Click the video below to see what I am talking about.
