Drapery Softens A Space

February 22, 2013

I know it seems silly to put drapery in a room that does not necessarily need privacy but it’s not just about covering up your windows. Many times, I walk into a space and people say, “The room just feels unfinished”. Typically, I find it’s because people have ignored their windows. Of course, there is always an exception to the rule, but if you want to make your space feel cozy, inviting and finished, adding drapery could be the perfect answer!

Drapery has moved away from balloons and swags, and instead, has become more streamlined. Panels, as you see above, are quite popular and easily found ready made. Although not in this example, because the windows are so high, try to put your drapery rod around 4″-6″ above the trim in create a sense of height and illusion!

Wouldn’t you say that the drapery creates that finishing touch? I would.
